It was a very short walk (just ask Cheryl & Diane how short the walk was) to the Library of Congress.  On the way, we stopped to make a group photo on the steps of the Supreme Court, where the final scene of "Talk of the Town" was shot.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO ATTENDEES

A heartfelt thanks for making the truly gallant effort to come to the fourth annual Cary Grant convention, this year known as "CArRY FOuRTH."  Although we couldn't have planned it, this title seems acutely appropriate since we will "carry forth" together to celebrate friendship and fun even though we face disheartening and anxious times.  In these uncertain days, we are especially grateful for your courage and resolve in joining us.  We hope that this weekend will prove unforgettable and lift your spirits not only because of the merriment we'll share, but, more poignantly now, because of the simple fact that we can share it together here in Washington, D.C.

As you read the program and participate in the events of "CArRY FOuRTH," please know that all was conceived, planned, designed, printed and executed before the tragedy of September 11th.  A few days ago, as we took a final look at the program, we couldn't help but see it as trivial.  But, it is our wish that you will accept our efforts in the spirit in which they were intended -- in joy, camaraderie and as a simple tribute to a special movie star.  Now, more than ever, we hope that smiles will bring us closer together and in that sense, CV2001 may mean even a little more than it might otherwise have meant.

Wishing you an incredible three days.

Our love,

Deb & Deb
